The multifaceted artist, dancer, singer and songwriter Tori Costa visited Dino’s Paralelo on June 6, 2025, for a conversation about her music, her Portuguese background and artistic interests.
Born in the United States, she perfected her Portuguese during her regular visits with her parents to Furnas and Sao Vicente de Ferreira.
Musically, Tori favors a blend of Portuguese-American folk, fado and soft rock. “Eu não sei” and “Miguel” showcased her beautiful silky and velvety voice.
Dino Garcia surprised Tori with two of her favorite Portuguese singers by playing Mariza’s “Ouça Lá Senhor Vinho” and Jorge Ferreira’s “Mais Um, Mais Um.”
Tori is working on a new album to be released sometime in the fall.
